Where are you originally from/where do you call home?
Born and raised in Duvall, WA.

Where did you receive your education?

Family, mentors, peers, travel, books…

More formally, Western Washington University for undergraduate studies with a dual degree from Huxley and Fairhaven College with a focus on Community-Based Environmental Sustainability and Health
. M.Ed. International Education, SIT Graduate Institute, Brattleboro, Vermont.

What does your past work experience look like?

Right out of college I worked as an Environmental Educator for the Explorers’ Club, now a local program of Wild Whatcom. The following four years, I had the good fortune to work with underrepresented populations in higher education by serving as the Education Abroad Specialist at Seattle University and previously as the International Programs and Exchange Coordinator at the University of Washington.  I have been given many wonderful opportunities to facilitate cross-cultural integration experiences for students, such as leading service learning projects in Tijuana, Mexico and the Dominican Republic; teaching a UW course in cross-cultural communication to predominantly international students; and working closely with staff and faculty to help them design and develop international study abroad courses.

Why Western Washington University?

Because it’s the best school in the nation!

What are your hobbies/what do you like to do in your free time?
Travel, mostly through Southeast Asia and Central America. Hope to spend more time in the Middle East.
Classic Northwest outdoor enthusiast – Mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, scuba diving, surfing, paddle boarding, Love me a good board/card game or any sort outdoor lawn game that involves some hand-eye coordination.

Something unique about you
I can make amazing Chai!
